Here is a list of upcoming events. These are subject to changes, especially since weather can be a factor.
Saturday, May 24th – 10:00 am
Discover Sailing
Become certified as a “captain” if you have sailing experience, or come learn sailing techniques and how to properly command the boats.
Saturday, May 31st – 10:00 am
Sail to Secret Beach
Access to this beach is only available by sea. Enjoy the clear water, crawl through the cave (if the tide is low), and snorkel around the reefs.
Monday, June 16th – 12:00 noon
Beach Bash Sailing Activities
Take a break after the mini and help command crews of students, friends, and faculty members around the bay. This is the only sailing activity that is free for all students. We will need assistance from our members with keeping the event organized and from our certified captains with sailing the students around safely and within the boundaries of our course.
Saturday, June 28th – 10:00 am
Sailing Activity
This event will be decided and run completely by other members of the club. Whether you want to race, practice your technique, or visit some of the nearby locations, this activity is all up to you, the members.
Satruday, July 19th – 11:00 am
Sail to Purple Turtle
We’ll take the boats out and sail to Purple Turtle Beach and enjoy the soft(er) sand and have lunch. After lunch, we’ll return to Coconuts.
Saturday, August 2nd – 4:30 pm
Sunset Sail and S’mores
This is our last club activity for the semester. Take a break from classes before the intense studying begins by sailing in the bay as the sun sets. Afterward, we’ll roast marshmallows on a bonfire by the beach and make s’mores.
*All events will meet at Coconuts beach at the scheduled time.
**No events should conflict with any exams or heavy study periods.
***All events are subject to weather and last minute cancellation in the event of large waves, heavy rain, or hurricane/storm conditions and will attempt to be rescheduled.
****No experience is required. All are welcome to attend any sailing club events. The cost for an activity to a non-member is $20 EC.
